The church of SS Annunziata stands alone on the eastern shore of Lake Varano. Inside, the holy building houses the precious Crucifix of Varano, a polychrome wooden statue from the 1300s, reverred for centuries by the inhabitants of Ischitella and neighboring municipalities.
In this oasis of peace, the untouched nature and the splendid vistas, involve all the senses in a crescendo of emotions reaching their peak in the golden light of unforgettable sunsets.

Isola di Varano Natural Reserve
Within the Gargano National Park is the Nature Reserve of Isola del Varano (Varano Island). The reserve, bordering on Uria Camping and 145 hectares large, includes a lush pine forest of Aleppo pine and Maritime pine. In the reserve there are many animal species and migratory birds.
Santa Maria di Monte d’Elio
The Church rises in the center of the Monte d’Elio archaeological park and is a real pearl dating back to the ancient Slavic city of Devia. The church houses 13th century Byzantine style frescoes. Around the church there are also the remains of the city of Devia. The place is suggestive and offers a splendid panorama of the nearby Lesina lagoon.
Villages around Gargano and beaches
The Gargano is full of splendid villages nestled on the shore such as Vieste, Peschici and Rodi Garganico. The towns, overlooking the sea, offer panoramas and glimpses absolutely to see. Not to mention the jagged coast and the wonderful beaches that have nothing to envy to the more famous ones, such as the Baia delle Zagare, Pugnochiuso, Vignanotica.The characteristics of the Gargano coast are unique and it will be nice to explore them all thanks to a boat tour starting from Vieste or Peschici.No less fascinating are the small villages of the interior, perched on the sides of the hills, like Ischitella itself, which is the municipality inside which Camping Uria stands, or Carpino, Vico, Cagnano, San Nicandro Garganico, all of medieval origin and all with a character to discover that makes them unique and precious.
San Giovanni Rotondo
San Giovanni Rotondo is famous for the Sanctuary of San Pio and because here, the Saint, he spent most of his life. In San Giovanni Rotondo you can pay homage to his remains and visit the great Basilica, designed by Renzo Piano, a destination for millions of pilgrims.
Monte Sant’Angelo
The town of Monte Sant'Angelo is famous for the Sanctuary of San Michele Arcangelo, dating back to the dawn of Christianity. The cave where the archangel Michael would have appeared is one of the oldest pilgrimage destinations in the world. The center of the village is also worth a visit, due to the charm of its streets, its buildings (unmissable, for example, the Norman castle that can be visited and the early medieval monumental complex of San Pietro), its museums and the breathtaking panorama of the Gulf of Manfredonia. That history lives in these places, is also understood by visiting, just outside the town, the ancient Abbey of Pulsano and its hermitages.
Natural Reserve of the Umbrian Forest
The Reserve is a triumph of beauty, nature trails and pedestrian paths, not surprisingly it has been declared a World Heritage Site. Inside the Reserve it is not uncommon to find different types of birds, such as the nightingale and mammals such as the fallow deer.
Wine&Food in Apulia
Apulia, and Gargano in particular, is a place where eating well is a must.During your stay you will be able to appreciate all the delicacies of the area such as excellent cheeses (to mention caciocavallo podolico and mozzarella, both of cow and buffalo). Let's not forget the citrus fruits for which the area is famous: the sweet melangle, the Bionda orange, the Duretta del Gargano and the Feminello del Gargano lemon.
The production of extra virgin olive oil is also an unmissable Gargano excellence along with the consumption of spontaneous local plant species (lampascioni, salicornia).
